I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of
your letter of the 28th February last, enclosing
two Memoranda from Lieutenant Colonel
Phillpotts, from which it seems that
a sum of $1,615.11 is to be considered as already expended
in repairing the Barracks at Stanley, and that it is
proposed to expend on them a further sum of
$3,067.01, making a total sum of £4,683.12.11 for this service.
2. I am directed by His Excellency the Governor to state to you for the information of the Honourable the Major General Commanding, that in the
Despatch recently received from Earl Grey, His Excellency is called upon
